PROJECT:
The Dream League
What we do: "Let the puck drop for the girls." The Dream League empowers girls and women in ice hockey by offering opportunities for training and playing games, reducing the gender disparity in the sport.
How we do it? The Dream League offers a comprehensive program that allows girls and women to play games, participate in structured training sessions, and develop essential life skills. Our approach includes delivering the Olympic Values Education, which instils the value of respect, excellence, and friendship among the players, coaches, and referees. By doing so, we nurture well-rounded, empowered athletes on and off the ice.
How far we’ve come The Dream League has made remarkable strides since its launch, evolving from Korea’s first-ever women's ice hockey league to the country’s official national women’s programme. Starting with 120 players in 2022, the league now engages over 250 players across 16 teams, including participants from every province and international collaborations within the development programmes during the off-season.
The participants are also spreading the values on various international stages, such as the national team players selected at The Dream League winning the silver medal at the Gangwon 2024 YOG women's 3-on-3 ice hockey games. By focusing on quality training, excellence and integrity in games, and Olympic Values Education, The Dream League has empowered over a thousand girls and women and established a safe, supportive community, inspiring the next generation of women's ice hockey players in Korea and beyond.
