About the IOC Young Leaders Programme

The IOC Young Leaders Programme, launched in 2016, empowers young changemakers to transform lives through sport and the Olympic values. Every two years, 25 Young Leaders are selected to join a four-year journey designed to help them develop and deliver initiatives that address social challenges in their communities through sport.

Aligned with the IOC's Olympic Impact strategy, and supported by IOC seed funding and capacity development that includes global network of mentors and experts, IOC Young Leaders have implemented more than 140 sport-based initiatives, impacting over 100,000 people worldwide. Through their work, they contribute to the Olympic Movement's ambition of making sport a part of everyday life for more people, helping to create healthier, more inclusive and resilient communities.

By leveraging sport as a tool for education, inclusion, well-being and skills development, IOC Young Leaders demonstrate the positive impact that sport can have on individuals and communities. Their initiatives help break down barriers to sport participation, equip young people with transferable life skills and promote the Olympic values in action.
