Juan Sebastián Sánchez
BIO
Juan, an IOC YL since the 2014 Nanjing YOG, is a designer with a passion for developing high-impact social projects. His interests are quality education, environmental sustainability, peace and conflict resolution. He was a panellist at One Young World, the UN Social Forum and the Olympism in Action Forum.
Project description
Juan has three active projects, all of them focusing on peace generation and social inclusion in different communities in Colombia. Through the use of different sports (badminton, field hockey, flying disc, etc.) these projects go to different schools, in different regions of the country, generating conversations about the importance of inclusion and proper conflict resolution in order to generate more resilient and sustainable communities. These projects stem from the need for reconciliation in the aftermath of the Peace Agreement signed in 2016 between the government and the guerrillas.
