Jean-Claude Rugigana
BIO
Jean- Claude serves as IT & Communication Officer at Rwanda National Olympic Committee. His love and passion for the use of sport for social development led him to partake in the IOC Young Leaders and Commonwealth Youth Sport for Development and Peace Networks. He took his contribution to local sports to another level when he founded “Sport4Change Network” and "Sport4Change Media", platforms that strive to create a positive change in the world using the power of sport and media.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
With financial support of the IOC and Panasonic, the “Best Holidays Karate for Children” project aimed at contributing to the 3rd sustainable development goal which is Good Health and Well-Being and promoting the Olympic values among the Rwandan youth aged 4 to 16 years old using mainly karate as a tool.
The project was implemented under The Champions Karate Academy and within the 1-year period, it impacted 229 children including 75 girls.
