Hugo Pereira
Hugo is working from his community sport club in Lisbon. He is interested in sport as a space for contact and relation, enabling people to learn about, experience and have a role in shaping the places where they live. He is currently finishing his master's studies in Sport Development and Politics at the German Sport University in Cologne and is interested in exploring the crossing between disciplines from different fields of knowledge in his projects.
Des-construir
"Des-construir" aims to introduce reflective thinking about inclusion, diversity and ecology, by exploring how young people experience their sense of belonging in the city and community they live in. To achieve so, the project will explore the opportunities sport offers to promote participation in the life of the neighbourhood. Over the course of one school year, young participants will work together on real building projects to create a small-scale community sports event inviting neighbours and friends to take part in an open athletics meeting.
Besides promoting opportunities for young participants to experience ideas by constructing them, the project will also allow participants to see their work imprinted in their community, creating a sense of shared ownership and participation.
