Eric Mitchell, OLY, CPA

BIO

Eric competed in Ski Jump at the 2010 Olympic Games and was named to the IOC Commission for Olympic Culture and Heritage in 2019. He is a passionate supporter of equality and inclusivity in Canada’s classrooms, locker rooms and boardrooms, using his personal experiences to connect people with sport’s values.

Project description

As an IOC Young Leader, Eric has committed to developing young athletes as leaders on and off of the field of play. He created “Pass the Torch” as a programme to equip Youth Olympic Games (YOG) athletes to give back to their communities in meaningful ways.

Eric has developed the programme together with IOC Young Leaders Maggie Brennan and Taylor Rooke. “Pass the Torch” is now active throughout Canada, helping young athletes to spread the values of Olympism and to realise their full potential in sport while influencing future generations.
