PROJECT:

Naplno

What we do: Naplno aims to raise awareness of relative energy deficiency syndrom in sport (REDs), eating disorders and related safeguarding issues in the Czech Republic and advocate for adequate care. We believe that athletes have a right to practise sport in a safe environment that not only nurtures their talent but also their wellbeing.

How we do it? By collaborating with experts in REDs and sports nutrition, we have developed a science-based platform that offers the latest insights on this important issue. Through the platform, advocacy and educational seminars, we share scientific knowledge, our research findings, and new discoveries with a diverse audience in a clear, accessible, and impactful manner. Additionally, we provide consultancy services to sports organizations, working with them to find tailored solutions.

How far we’ve come We have organised series of educational seminars for young athletes, their parents and coaches. More than 200 female athletes contributed to our research helping us to understand REDs in the Czech Republic. Project Naplno appeared in numerous media outputs aiding to spread awareness and educate the sports environment. Thanks to our efforts, the sports governing body in the Czech Republic is now conducting REDs screening. We look forward to continue with many other opportunities to follow.
