Ana Maria Stratu
BIO
Ana Maria is a karateka, a passionate events professional and Secretary General of Moldova’s National Karate Federation. Her impact through the IOC Young Leader’s programme has been recognised with her appointment to the IOC Women in Sport Commission.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Ana’s project aims to make the sport of Karate more accessible to girls and disabled children, while building a positive image of women practicing martial arts in the local community. As part of this initiative, she successfully organised her country’s first ever Women’s Karate Festival in 2016, followed by two larger international editions in 2018 and 2020. Held on International Women’s Day, Women’s Karate Festival is an opportunity to celebrate women in sport.
