Shu’an Yang

Shu’an Yang has held the position of Vice-President of the Chinese Olympic Committee since 2002, and currently he also serves as the Vice-President of the Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Yang’s career has been filled with executive leadership positions in sport. Prior to assuming the Vice President role for Beijing 2022, he served as Executive President of the Nanjing Organising Committee for the 2014 Youth Olympic Games (2012-2014), Vice President of Tianjin Organising Committee for the East Asian Games (2009-2013), Vice President of the Haiyang Organising Committee for the 2013 Asian Beach Games (2009-2013), Vice President of the Guangzhou Organising Committee for the 2010 Asian Games (2008-2010), Vice Minister of General Administration of Sport of China (GASC, 2004-2017), Executive Vice President of the Beijing Organising Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games (2004-2008), Vice President of Beijing Organising Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games (2003-2004), Assistant Minister of the General Administration of Sport of China (2002-2003), Vice President and Secretary General of the Chinese Badminton Association and Chinese Table Tennis Association (1997-2002) and Secretary, Director and Director General of various departments at the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport of China, now the GASC (1982-1997).
Additionally, he was Vice President and Deputy President of the International Table Tennis Association and Council Member at the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
Yang has a bachelor’s degree from Xi’an Physical Education University in China. He speaks Chinese and English.
