Mogens Jensen, MP, is Spokesperson for culture, media and sports for the Social Democrats in the Danish Parliament. Since his first election to the Parliament in 2005, he has held several key positions, and is currently Vice-Chairman of Social Democrats in Denmark. In 2014 through 2015, he served as Minister of Trade and Development for the Danish government.

Mogens is also Vice-Chairman of the Danish delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), where between 2015-2017 he held the office of Chairperson of the PACE Political Affairs Committee. He is a member of the PACE Committee on Culture, Science, Education and Media, where he has actively promoted good governance and integrity in sport. His work resulted in the adoption of the PACE Resolution 2199 (2018) entitled “Towards a framework for modern sports governance”, and he is currently preparing another report on “Football governance and ethics: business or values?”

Under his leadership, the 47-member state Assembly is setting up a parliamentary alliance, bringing together national legislators and inter-parliamentary organisations from around the world with key stakeholders in sport in a collaborative platform of exchange, awareness and common action on sport integrity, governance and inclusion.

Before the political office, Mogens worked for 18 years in the Danish Confederation of Trade Unions, and held many other positions of trust in both public and private organisations.
