Mari Kiviniemi has served as Deputy Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) since August 2014. She is responsible for strategic oversight of the OECD’s work on efficient and effective governance, territorial development, trade and agriculture, statistics and advancing the Better Life Initiative, as well as entrepreneurship, SMEs, and regions and cities.
Kiviniemi served as Finland’s Prime Minister from 2010 to 2011. Previously, she was Special Advisor on Economic Policy to the Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, Minister for European Affairs and Minister of Public Administration and Local Government.
