Kady Kanouté Tounkara

Kady Kanouté Tounkara is a Malian and French citizen who participated in the Olympic Games Beijing 2008 as co-captain of the Mali women's basketball team. She was a professional player for several years in Europe and a five-time French national champion and African champion before completing her Marketing and Management degree at Fordham University in New York.
Named in 2013 as President of Zone 2 on the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) Athletes’ Commission, Kanouté Tounkara volunteers to represent, empower and educate athletes. She is a lead trainer and a Steering Committee member of the IOC Athlete Career Programme (ACP) Outreach and has delivered workshops in over 35 different countries.
Kanouté Tounkara is also an advocate for clean sport and a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Education Committee member. She has taken part in different WADA outreach programmes and was a member of the WADA Independent Observers team at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018.
