Juan Sánchez
IOC YCM+ & Strategic Lead
Dilema.org
Juan Sánchez is a strategic designer with a keen interest in social innovation projects that empower and strengthen communities. His training has allowed him to understand the need for social innovation and find effective ways to build projects in a strategic manner.
Since the Colombian Peace Agreement in 2016, Sánchez has been committed to peace building and reconciliation projects. His work often uses sport as a tool to achieve social inclusion, gender equality and career opportunities for disadvantaged youth in marginal areas of the country. Sánchez’s most successful project, the Olympic Workshop, has allowed youngsters aged 12-18 to learn and experience different sports while receiving education on conflict resolution and the Olympic Values. The Workshop also provides young people with opportunities to engage with careers in sport. This work has allowed him to take part in One Young World as a panellist on Peace and Sport, and become a Global Ambassador for the Institute for Economics and Peace.
Sánchez is also founder of Dilema.org, an organisation that helps companies foster innovation and social responsibility through user studies, trend analysis and strategic forecasting. As part of its social commitment, Dilema provides half of its services pro bono to non-profit projects that contribute with social innovation and development.
