David Harrison is an award-winning journalist currently working as Senior Investigative Reporter for Al Jazeera International’s Investigative Unit.

Harrison has over 35 years of experience in journalism. He has worked for UK national newspapers including the Observer, the Daily and Sunday Telegraph and the Sunday Times. He has reported from all over the world, covering everything from global sports events and elections to war and natural disasters. He has covered conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Middle East, the Balkans, South America, Africa and Northern Ireland.

Harrison’s investigations include death squads in Colombia, dissidents in China, the crisis in Zimbabwe, ivory poaching in Kenya, sex trafficking in Eastern Europe, child slavery in Nigeria, rape camps in Afghanistan and political party funding in the UK.

A multilingual Oxford University graduate, Harrison’s television work for Al Jazeera International includes major undercover exposés of modern-day slavery and corruption in cricket.

Harrison’s awards include the Amnesty International Press Award and the Paul Foot Award for Campaigning and Investigative Journalism.

Harrison is also an international training consultant. Between journalistic assignments, he has run journalism courses across Asia and Central Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and South and Central America. His courses – given in English, French and Spanish – include news, sports and political reporting, investigations and feature writing.
