David Eades
Chief Presenter, BBC & Conference Host and Moderator
David Eades serves as Chief Presenter at the BBC and is a conference host and moderator. For the last 25 years, Eades has worked as a senior broadcaster for the BBC. As Europe Correspondent, Ireland Correspondent and Senior Sports News Correspondent, he covered stories from the death of Princess Diana and the peace process in Northern Ireland to FIFA World Cups and Olympic Games.
Eades’ ties to the sporting world extend over 20 years. He has moderated the SportAccord Convention for the past eight years, organising the conference programme and moderating the main plenary sessions.
He also moderated the inaugural conference of Sport at the Service of Humanity. The event, which was held at the Vatican, was opened by Pope Francis and attended by the UN Secretary-General and IOC President, with 500 guests addressing sport’s role in enhancing lives.
Eades is fluent in French, conversational in German, and is a keen golfer and cyclist. He is a founding member of Sport at the Service of Humanity and a board member of the International Masters Games Association.
