David Blough has served as the Executive Director of PLAY International since 2013; he started with the organisation in 2011 as the Communication and Development Director

Blough began his professional career at the New York United Nations office as an Advocacy Officer for an American NGO. He worked four years at the SOS Group, a social enterprise of 15,000 employees across the world as a Project Officer to the CIO, before heading the Partnership and Philanthropy Department.

Blough holds a master’s degree in Geopolitics and International Relations from the Pantheon-Sorbonne University and Ecole Normale Supérieure.

The speakers

Using the unique power of sport to bring people together, the Olympism in Action Forum saw a range of global players, including Olympic Movement stakeholders, athletes, private and public sector leaders, NGO representatives, academics, artists and the media come together to talk on topical contemporary issues. Chosen because of their ability to effect change and their wide range of sometimes differing opinions, the speakers led lively debates and seeked to challenge received wisdom to inspire new ways of thinking.
