Bill Morris LVO

Bill Morris is an expert advisor to the International Olympic Committee and other worldwide clients, focusing on major events and other complex projects. He is also an independent advisor within the UK Government, a director and trustee of a landmark annual UK event, a trustee of a national art and educational organisation, and an international ambassador for a grant-giving charity.

From 2006 to 2013, Morris was the Director in the London Organising Committee (LOCOG) responsible for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Torch Relay and Live Sites. His work also included the education team’s production of the Get Set education programme and LOCOG’s contribution to the global sports development project, “International Inspiration.” He also created the strategy and architecture for the Cultural Olympiad.

Since 2013, Morris has advised the IOC and the Olympic Games Organising Committees of Sochi, Rio, PyeongChang, Tokyo and Beijing on a similar range of topics.

Morris joined London 2012 from the BBC, where he worked in radio and TV production and later in senior management. Most recently, as Project Director, Live Events, he was responsible for many of the BBC’s major events. He was awarded the 'LVO' in The Queen’s Jubilee Honours List and the Olympic Order of Merit after the London 2012 Games.

Morris runs his own international events consultancy. He also speaks, chairs and facilitates for international conferences and works with future leaders as a mentor and coach.
