29 November 2021 - On 22 November, the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) held an extended meeting of the ROC Athletes' Commission chaired by Sofia Velikaya. The meeting was attended by athlete representatives from Russian national sports federations, who were welcomed by Stanislav Pozdnyakov, the ROC President. The participants discussed an received information about anti-doping, athletes' rights and responsibilities and the prevention of competition manipulation. During round tables, the participants had also the opportunity to discuss topics such as the activities and the establishment of athletes' commissions in Russian national federations, educational opportunities for athletes, Olympic Agenda 2020+5, anti-doping testing, athletes' rights, Rule 40 of the Olympic Charter in relation to the Tokyo 2020 Games, and communication and interaction with the media. 23 April 2021 - A delegation from the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) paid a two-day official visit to Armenia. During the visit, the ROC President, Stanislav Pozdnyakov (r. on photo), and his counterpart from the NOC of Armenia, Gagik Tsarukyan (l.), signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. According to the agreement, the parties will promote direct contact between the national sports federations and cooperate in the training of athletes, coaches and other sports specialists. The MoU involves various forms of cooperation: the participation of teams and athletes in bilateral and multilateral competitions and training camps to be held in the territory of the countries; the exchange of coaches, experts and students to swap information and experience; exchange invitations to participate in congresses, conferences, seminars and courses organised for officials; and joint sports events and projects. 18 September 2020 - As part of an agreement between Olympic Solidarity and the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), for the very first time in Russia, training courses are being implemented under the auspices of the IOC. The Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) was chosen by the ROC as the platform for implementing this cycle of training courses for sports administrators. From 8 to 10 September, the first participants of the Olympic Solidarity National Training Courses for Sports Administrators successfully underwent training at the Moscow branch of the RIOU. The participants, representatives of national sports federations and Olympic councils, have all received certificates from the IOC and the RIOU. By the end of 2020, four courses are planned to be implemented by the ROC. More details here.
29 June 2020 - As part of the festive events on 23 June, held on the official website of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), athletes were seen live answering questions from fans, taking part in an intellectual quest, conducting workouts and presenting awards to the most active sports enthusiasts. All the events were accessible online, and the programme included exciting sports. Full details here. As part of the Olympic Country programme, the ROC has announced the launch of its #SEMYAZASPORT contest. The main aim of the contest is to unite families in their desire to take part in sports, lead an active lifestyle and be part of the Olympic Movement. The contest will run from 17 June to 5 July. 4 June 2018 - Stanislav Pozdnyakov (photo) was elected as President of the Russian Olympic Committee during the NOC’s General Assembly on 29 May in Moscow. NOC Vice-President since 2016, as an athlete he won four Olympic gold medals in sabre (one individual, three team) and an Olympic bronze medal (team event). He also headed the Olympic Athlete from Russia team at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. The NOC General Assembly also re-elected Anastasia Davydova as NOC Secretary General.
