22 April 2024 - On 17 April in Paris, the DOSB and the French NOC (CNOSF) entered into a new cooperation agreement aimed at further strengthening the close cooperation between the two NOCs. The agreement was signed by NOC Presidents Thomas Weikert and David Lappartient. One hundred days before the Olympic Games Paris 2024, the focus of the collaboration is on the sporting highlight of the year and the resulting opportunities to expand Franco-German friendship and promote intercultural dialogue and peaceful coexistence, especially among young people from both countries. Areas of cooperation also include non-Olympic sports, exchanges on refugee programmes and the possibilities of integration through sport. More details here.

25 March 2022 - The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) has announced that the 2021 Fair Play Prize of German Sport has been awarded to Peter Fischer, President of Eintracht Frankfurt, who has addressed societal issues for many years and has positioned himself very clearly against racism. A special prize has also been awarded to gymnast Sarah Voss, who at the European Championships in Basel (Switzerland) made a strong statement against sexualisation in sport with her performance in a full-body suit instead of the standard gymnastics outfit. The prizes will be presented to the winners during the 8th Biebrich Castle Talks, which will take place on 5 May at Biebrich Castle in Wiesbaden. Organised by the German Olympic Academy, the talks will be held under the theme of “New Perspectives and Challenges in Olympic Sports”. More info here.

22 May 2022 - The German NOC (DOSB) has launched the campaign "Support Your Sport" to help the approximately 90,000 German sports clubs with their 27 million members during the coronavirus crisis. Internationally renowned athletes such as Katarina Witt, Britta Heidemann, Kristina Vogel and Boris Becker are reminding the public where their success began – in their sports clubs. In addition, everyday heroes such as volunteers or trainers are calling on the public to support the clubs in the current situation so that they can continue to offer exercise and sport to improve health and provide enjoyment after the crisis, and convey values such as fair play, respect and diversity. In addition, to preserve diversity in the clubs and associations landscape, the DOSB launched a support fund at the end of March and provided EUR 1 million from its German Sports Foundation for this purpose. 17 July 2018 - For the fifth consecutive time, the German Olympic Academy celebrated Olympic Day on the premises of the German Sports and Olympic Museum in Cologne. More than 50 cooperation partners (mostly Olympic and Paralympic sports federations and clubs) offered over 40 activation and information booths for some 4,000 schoolchildren and teenagers from the region. As well as experiencing a variety of sports, the children also could learn about the values of sport, Olympic history and doping prevention, and test their Olympic knowledge in a quiz. As in previous years, top athletes from the German Olympic and Paralympic teams attended the celebrations and talked about their careers, reported on their experiences and answered the children’s questions. In addition to the activities at the Museum, the German Sport University Cologne, in cooperation with the Olympic Studies Centre, offered a special Olympic Day lecture and seminar programme for students.
