Congresswoman, Republic of Peru, representing Lima and advocating for sports promotion and youth development through policy initiatives (2001-2006); Played a key role in the creation of the "Youth and Sports" commission, focusing on legislative efforts for youth development and sports promotion, twice elected President; re-elected as a Congresswoman, furthering her commitment to public service and policy advocacy (2011-2016); served as Vice-President of the “Health and Labour” Committee.

Established the non-profit "Cecilia Tait – Talent Seeker” organisation dedicated to nurturing volleyball talent among underprivileged young girls; founded Orthopedic Rehabilitation Clinic "Vesalius” in Germany; founded and managed the rehabilitation centre "Tait, Estoy Bien," Sports & Health.

Inducted into prestigious Volleyball Hall of Fame in the United States (2005); Member of the Administrative Board of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), supporting talent search in the discipline of volleyball in Peru, reaching out to various municipalities; Member of the Board of Directors of the Lima Foundation.

Nicknamed “La Zurda de Oro” (“The Golden Lefty”); elected to the Volleyball Hall of Fame's Class of 2005, solidifying her legacy as an iconic figure in the sport; named World’s Best Player after Seoul 1988 (MVP); chosen as one of the 25 most important women in Peru for the celebration of Peru’s Bicentennial; chosen athlete for lighting the Cauldron at the Lighting Ceremony of the Pan-American Games, Lima 2019; named Best Player in prestigious tournaments like South American Championships.
