136th IOC Session

The 136th IOC Session documents:

The 136th IOC Session took place on 17 July in Lausanne, Switzerland. The IOC Session proceedings and the press conference afterwards were all streamed live on this page.

Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the 136th IOC Session was this year held in a virtual format. The Session participants were invited to connect via an electronic platform, where they were able to follow the proceedings, participate in the discussions and, crucially, cast their votes on the various subjects under discussion. Given the nature of the electronic platform, only nine participants were visible on screen at any one time. Anyone who took the floor was visible when speaking. The IOC President chaired the meeting from Olympic House in Lausanne. As at every Session, the proceedings were streamed live on YouTube.

Among the various topics on the agenda, the Session heared reports from the Ethics Commission, the Audit Committee and the Finance Commission. The Session also approved the 2019 IOC Annual Report and Audited Accounts. There were updates from the coordination commissions and the Organising Committees for the Olympic Games and from the chairs of the IOC commissions, along with reports on anti-doping efforts and from the International Council of Arbitration for Sport. The Session approved amendments to the Olympic Charter and voted to elect new IOC Members. All the votes will took place at the end of the Session.
