IKL strategy 2021-2024
The IOC recently published the summary of its Strategy on Information, Knowledge and Games Learning (IKL) for the period 2021 to 2024 on the OGK platform. The document outlines IKL’s mission, which is “to promote and stimulate both innovative and integrated learning related to the delivery of the Olympic Games”, associated goals, working procedures, stakeholders, portfolios, the governance model and the principle of ongoing evaluation. The document constitutes an important point of reference for everybody who works with the IKL team, be it within the IOC or in an OCOG.
Chris Payne, IKL Associate Director, explained: “This strategy was developed during a period of significant upheaval due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the postponement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. During this time of constant change, we felt it was important to clearly define our ambitions and how we will achieve them. However, as the IKL space evolves continually, this is by no means a static document. We will review, update and share it with our stakeholders regularly as we all continue to learn from experience.”
