Extensive IOC licensing programme for Paris 2024 bringing Olympic spirit to fans around the world
As Paris 2024 enthrals audiences across the world, fans are taking the opportunity to connect with the Olympic Games through the wide range of physical and digital products offered as part of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s global licensing programme.
The IOC has collaborated with several new licensees to release Olympic-branded products across three collections for Paris 2024: the Olympic Games Collection, which promotes the Games globally; the Olympic Heritage Collection, which celebrates the art and design of past Olympic Games; and the Olympic Collection, which helps bring the Olympic values to sports fans and young people globally.
“Official merchandise enables fans to connect with the Olympic and Paralympic Games and collect their own special piece of Olympic history,” explains Anne-Sophie Voumard, Managing Director of IOC Television & Marketing Services.
Items include Paris 2024 match and replica balls for volleyball, beach volleyball and water polo (all produced by Mikasa) and basketball and handball (produced by Molten), and Paris 2024 finger skateboards and ramps, developed with Spin Master’s Tech Deck brand, enabling fans to create their own Olympic skateparks.
In addition, fans are able to purchase a range of co-branded Looney Tunes merchandise, developed in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, including apparel, pins and accessories.
E-commerce bringing fans closer to the Games
For those not able to attend the Games in Paris in person, a wide assortment of branded items are available on the online Olympic Shop – a one-stop shop where fans can purchase Paris 2024, Milano Cortina 2026 and LA28 collection products, as well as Olympic and Olympic Heritage items.
New Olympic-branded products have also been made available online via Trendyol.com – an affiliate of Worldwide Olympic Partner Alibaba and the official e-commerce services partner of the Olympic Games in Türkiye and select countries and territories.
Digital offerings connecting with fans globally
Fans around the world are also being given the chance to connect with the Games via a wide range of digital offerings that are providing interactive Olympic experiences.
These include OlympicsTM Go! Paris 2024, the official mobile game for the Olympic Games Paris 2024, published by nWay; Paris 2024 online sailing races developed by and available on Virtual Regatta; and the Olympic World – an immersive environment on Roblox that provides a dynamic new platform to engage fans with the Olympic Games virtually.
Olympic fans have also been inspired to test themselves in a variety of connected sports challenges that are available via the Kinomap interactive training app. These unique offerings give runners, cyclists and rowers around the world the chance to tackle the Olympic courses remotely on their compatible home fitness equipment.
For the first time, a digital collectable album has also been launched for the Olympic Games, with the IOC collaborating with Panini to create a collection of digital card packs for Paris 2024.
Marking 100 years since Paris 1924
In addition to products celebrating the Olympic Games Paris 2024, the IOC has also worked with licensees to create products that mark the centenary of the Olympic Games Paris 1924.
Offered as part of the Olympic Heritage Collection, these include a limited-edition range of apparel from Lacoste, a commemorative coin developed with the Monnaie de Paris, and special-edition Montblanc writing instruments and dedicated inks and notebooks celebrating the Olympic Games Paris 1924 and Olympic Winter Games Chamonix 1924.
Official Paris 2024 products
Alongside the IOC’s global licensing programme, the Paris 2024 Organising Committee has developed an extensive programme for the Games, offering a wide range of merchandise and souvenirs for fans.
Approximately 6,000 different products are now available in a wide range of categories, including clothing, accessories, pins, stationery, homeware, games and toys, luggage and eyewear. This official merchandise is available online through the Olympic Shop and at approximately 30,000 points of sale throughout France.
“We are proud to have put together an amazing team of licensees,” explains Edouard Bardon, Licensing Director at the Paris 2024 Organising Committee. “Everyone is able to treat themselves to a souvenir of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, whatever their taste or budget.”
Expanded Olympic licensing opportunities
The licensing agreement is the result of the IOC’s Global Licensing Strategy – an initiative driven by Olympic Agenda 2020+5 that aims to engage and connect fans through official merchandise that strengthens and promotes the Olympic brand, not only during the Olympic Games, but between Games editions as well.
In addition to the Olympic Heritage Collection, the IOC’s core licensing programmes include the Olympic Collection, which aims to engage a young and active audience through unique branded products, including apparel, toys and games, bags, stationery items and sports equipment, and the Olympic and Paralympic Games Collections, which celebrate each upcoming edition of the Games and include a wide range of accessories, souvenirs, fan gear and apparel.
Through the sale of official merchandise, collectibles and souvenirs, the Olympic licensing programmes offer fans a tangible connection to the Olympic Games and the Olympic values.
Olympic merchandising items are available for sale through the Olympic Shop.
