Some exciting events and learning opportunities for Olympic Movement stakeholders are coming up, and you may want to pencil the following items in your agenda.

NOC seminars

On 27 April, the OM Unit PMC will organise a webinar for all NOCs across the globe, focusing on how to best continuously educate athletes and their entourages on the rules against competition manipulation, notably in view of their participation in major multi-sport events (e.g. the European Games, African Games, Asian Games, Pacific Games, Pan American Games and of course the Olympic Games). The Unit will sharesmart tools and informative material, while providing the opportunity to exchange best practices, share experiences and learn from each other. Selected NOCs will present their targeted activities and explain how they have been working with their Believe in Sport ambassadors for this purpose.

A regional webinar for the NOCs of South East Asia will also be organised on 18 April, with the participation of the NOC integrity experts (SPOCs) and representatives from National Federations. This webinar is being held strategically ahead of the 2023 Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia (5-17 May 2023).

ULIS Integrity Seminar

The role of lotteries in supporting the sports movement on the prevention of competition manipulation will be the theme of an integrity seminar, organised by United Lotteries for Integrity in Sport (ULIS) on 27 and 28 June in Lausanne, Switzerland, and supported by the OM Unit PMC. One part of the programme will focus on how lotteries and NOCs can join forces to protect sport from competition manipulation in their respective countries. UNODC Seminar for ASEAN countries

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) will organise a workshop on safeguarding sport from corruption for the Southeast Asian nations (ASEAN) on 15 on 16 May in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The IOC is supporting the event and has helped to devise the programme.

The objectives of the workshop are to:

  • raise awareness of corruption risks in sport, with a focus on competition manipulation and corruption associated with organising sports events;
  • share good practices on how to mitigate such risks; and
  • promote cooperation between criminal justice authorities and sports organisations.

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) will participate in the workshop and all the NOCs in the region have been invited to join in. The event is being organised in cooperation with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and is also supported by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
