Worldwide Olympic Partner Panasonic hosts Tokyo 2020 Special Exhibition “The Passions”

In preparation for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, the Panasonic Centre Tokyo (PC Tokyo) has designed a special exhibition called “The Passions: Our Passions will Shape the Future,” as part of the Tokyo 2020 official programme. The exhibition, which is running until 9 December 2017, introduces the work of designers and creators involved in the Games, primarily focusing on the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, from Tokyo 1964 to Tokyo 2020.

The exhibition focuses on the passions of the creators who were involved in the Olympic Games Tokyo 1964 and the legacy they left to Japanese society and the world. Yet it also goes beyond this, to bring alive people's passions, in particular those of children and young people who are shaping the future. The aim is for everyone to come together to create the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. The exhibition consists of three zones: Tokyo 1964, Tokyo 2020, and Experience Interactive Art, where visitors can create their own unique pictogram and experience the digital art using Panasonic's advanced technology.

"I was highly impressed by the three integrated exhibits," said Francis Gabet, Director of the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage, who visited the exhibition in Tokyo. "The interactive parts make it very engaging and clearly convey the designers' and creators' passion for the Olympics and Paralympics over the decades."

This exhibition is the second part of the Let's Build TOKYO Together interactive activity started by PC Tokyo on 24 July 2017, exactly three years prior to the Games. The theme, decided in cooperation with parties involved in the Games such as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Organising Committee, is "Our passions will shape the future." Various activities and events are being held prior to the start of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, aiming at building excitement toward the Games and creating a legacy for the future.

Panasonic Corporation provides the Olympic Games with state-of-the-art digital audio/video equipment. Panasonic has been a Worldwide Olympic Partner since the IOC's global sponsorship programme began in 1985.
