Lee Valley VeloPark
Lee Valley VeloPark hosted London 2012’s track cycling and BMX competitions. Two years after the Games, in April 2014, the venue opened to the public, becoming the world’s only venue that brings together the four Olympic cycling disciplines in one place: track in the iconic velodrome, BMX, plus – on circuits constructed as part of the venue’s transformation – road and mountain biking. All of this in the heart of East London.
Since then, it has successfully blended a mixture of community and elite programmes that cater for first time riders, cyclists with disabilities, young people, commercial activities, hires and major events.
The venue has hosted major international, national, regional and local competitions at all levels. It has been home to Six Day London, the UCI Track Cycling World Championships (2016) and the Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup in 2012, 2014 and 2018. In 2022, it will hold the track cycling events for the Commonwealth Games, making it the only venue in the world to have hosted an Olympic Games, World Championships and Commonwealth Games in the same sport.
The high-profile venue is also available for hire for events and conferences. The 3,500 square metre track centre in the middle of the velodrome has hosted political speeches, award ceremonies and exhibitions, as well as a host of other activities.
