IOC meetings prior to and during the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games – Information for the Media
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will hold a number of meetings in Sochi prior to and during the 2014 Olympic Winter Games that will take place from 7 to 23 February:
- IOC Executive Board (EB) meeting: 2 and 3 February 2014
- 126th IOC Session: 5-7 and 23 February 2014
All meetings are taking place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, located near the coastal cluster in Sochi.
MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES
A number of media opportunities will be organised during these meetings, but as a general rule please note that the EB meeting will be closed to the media and the IOC Session will be broadcast live on CCTV at the Main Press Centre.
MEDIA ACCESS
Media access to the Radisson Blu Hotel is very limited.
However, day passes will be available during the IOC meetings and the Olympic Games to allow the media to conduct pre-booked interviews. These passes will be delivered subject to a formal request to the IOC Media Relations Team at least 24 hours in advance.
Media who require a day pass to access the Radisson Blu Hotel should send an email to: pressoffice@olympic.org and must include the following information:
- Full name and name of media organisation
- Date and time of the interview as well as name of the interviewee(s)
- Date the day pass is required for (including the time you plan to arrive at the hotel)
- Sochi 2014 accreditation details including accreditation number(s)
- Contact number in Sochi
Please note that the media day pass will give you access to the lobby of the hotel ONLY, and NOT to the meeting rooms.
Kindly be aware that there will be no media working area at the Radisson Blu Hotel and that the media are encouraged to work at the MPC.
