Esports stars welcomed to Lausanne!

IOC President Thomas Bach welcomed two leading esports stars to the IOC headquarters, ahead of the IOC-GAISF Esports Forum this weekend.

Manchester City FIFA 18 video game star Kai 'deto' Wollin and Jacob "Jake" Lyon, a professional esports player for the Houston Outlaws in the Overwatch League spoke at length to the IOC President about their profession and gave a demonstration of their respective games.

The Esports Forum is on 21 July at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. The Forum will be streamed live on the IOC Media YouTube channel. The aim of the Forum is to explore synergies, build joint understanding and set a platform for future engagement between the esports and gaming industries and the Olympic Movement.

Invited participants will include representatives from across the esports and gaming ecosystem: players, publishers, teams, media, sponsors and event organisers; and from across the Olympic Movement: National Olympic Committees, International Sports Federations, athletes, the IOC and GAISF.
