If you thought our #awesome twitter competition “‘I Copy U” ended with the winner being flown to Innsbruck 2012 for an exclusive prize, then think again! The competition was such a hit that we decided to keep it going by offering a new prize of a trip to the London 2012 Olympic Games.

As part of the revamped competition, we opened up a contest booth at the first Winter Youth Olympic Games and added two additional poses from two of our favourite athletes from Innsbruck 2012 for fans to copy: Morocco’s Adam Lamhamedi, who made history by becoming the first African to claim gold at a winter Olympic event when he won the Super G, and Eleanor Adviento, the pint-sized New Zealand curler with the big personality.

During the Games, the New Zealand curling team stopped by the I Copy U contest booth at Congress Innsbruck, where the Cultural and Education Programme was taking place, to copy their teammate’s signature pose by crouching down and cupping their hand to their ears.

Eleanor said: “I’m a really dynamite person on the team so them copying me is great for increasing the good vibes.”

Speaking about her experience at the Games, the vice-skip said: “We haven’t come to the top of our sport yet but we made new friends, and learnt the Olympic values of friendship, respect and excellence.”
