Chamonix 1924: Overview

Three competition venues were used at the Olympic Winter Games Chamonix 1924. Two of them are still in use today, one of which has been repurposed. One of the competition venues was seasonal, and the other two were built for the Games as permanent facilities.

The Stade Olympique de Chamonix (recently renamed to Parc Olympique) hosted the cross-country skiing, curling, ice hockey, patrol, figure skating and speed skating competitions and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. It has since been repurposed and hosts a number of sports. The Tremplin Olympique du Mont staged the ski jumping and Nordic combined events. Both venues were built specifically as permanent venues for Chamonix 1924.

The Piste Olympique de Bobsleigh des Pèlerins staged the bobsleigh competition. Built for the first time for the 1924 Games, this natural track made of rocks, ice and snow was rebuilt every winter season up to 1950.

There was no official Olympic Village.
