Welcome to the December 2023 newsletter. In this edition you’ll see an update on a recent workshop we hosted with participants from future Organising Committees who are focused on IKL work. We concentrated on the build-up to the Paris 2024 Games and shared many interesting lessons from the Paris experience, covering a range of information, knowledge and learning projects. The willingness of all participants to share openly and constructively was refreshing. My thanks to everyone who attended and participated so fully.

Since we did the last workshop in June 22, the speed of change with AI has been remarkable. The importance of the IOC’s approach to this new technology is outlined in an interview with Ilario Corna, the IOC’s Chief Information and Technology Officer.

There is also coverage of another recent community workshop, this time the latest event of the Knowledge and Planning Consortium (KPC). We participate in this community with a range of International Federations. Again, the willingness of people to share openly and learn from each other is the foundation. 2024 will see two Games editions. I am sure it will be another busy time, full of opportunities to share and learn, with all sorts of new knowledge emerging to support our work.

In the meantime, I wish everyone a peaceful holiday period.
