Motor Sport has arrived as a featured event in the new Olympic Virtual Series!

No matter your skill level, this is your opportunity to enjoy and compete, for the first time ever, in the Olympic Virtual Series Motor Sport Event available in Gran Turismo™ Sport.

Important dates for Motor Sport Event in the Olympic Virtual Series

Global online qualification: 13 May 2021 - 23 May 2021.

World finals broadcast: 23 June 2021.

The Global Online Qualification time trial will be available from 13 to 23 May, during which you will race in the competition with a car decorated in a specific livery on a track with distinctive track-side branding.

A total of 16 drivers will qualify for the World Final, which will be broadcast on 23 June. A maximum of one driver will be able to qualify from each country. The qualification for the top 16 drivers is based on region, as follows:

  • Top 7 drivers from EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa)
  • Top 4 drivers from Asia
  • Top 2 drivers from North America
  • Top 2 drivers from Central and South America
  • Top 1 driver from Oceania

To prioritise inclusivity and participation, entry is open to all users of the 'Sport Mode' of Gran Turismo™ Sport who have registered a PSN ID in eligible countries. The World Finals will be restricted to competitors aged 18 or over at the time of the event*.

** In Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates, competitors must be aged 21 or over on the starting date of the event.

How to participate in the Olympic Virtual Series Motor Sport Event

You can participate and sign up through the Gran Turismo™ Sport game, within the Sport Mode, starting on the 13th of May 2021.

To participate, you need to own or have access to a PlayStation®4 or PlayStation®5 console and own or have access to a copy of Gran Turismo™ Sport. Additionally, you’ll need to have an internet connection, PlayStation Plus membership, and an account for PlayStation® Network. To sign up on your PlayStation®4 or PlayStation®5 console, open Gran Turismo™ Sport, and navigate to the Sport Mode. From there, select the Olympic Virtual Series, and sign up through the in-game prompts.
