Tokyo Olympics, artistic gymnastics, women’s vault and uneven bars finals – where to watch live in India

After Simone Biles’ withdrawal from the women’s all-round final and ROC breaking USA’s stranglehold on the event at the Olympics, the focus turns to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics artistic gymnastics vault and uneven finals at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre on Sunday.

While a question mark still looms over Simone Biles’ participation in the events, the US gymnast has qualified for both. Biles is the reigning champion in the vault apparatus, having won gold at Rio 2016.

Simone Biles also announced a late withdrawal from the individual women’s all-round event, casting further doubts over her involvement in the vault and uneven bars medal rounds.

Simone Biles’ US team-mate Jade Carey and Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade are the other top contenders in the eight-woman vault field.

Uneven bars this year has a highly-competitive field with Simone Biles and her fellow American Sunisa Lee, Belgium’s Nina Derwael, who topped the qualification, ROC duo Anastasiia Iliankova and Angelina Melnikova and China’s Lu Yufei in the fray.

Indian gymnast Pranati Nayak did not qualify for the events. She was ranked 86th out of 88 contestants for uneven bars and 58 out of 84 for the vault. Only the top eight qualify for the final for each apparatus.
