The confirmation of Sha’Carri Richarson and Shericka Jackson’s presence at the 2023 London Diamond League meeting on Sunday, 23 July, has made the women’s 100m one of the must-watch events at the 10th round of the Diamond League season.
It will be the second race in in a week following their 100m showdown at the Silesia meeting on Sunday 16 July, when the American edged Jackson in a close finish.
Jackson is the fastest woman this year with her 10.65 from the Jamaican Championships on July 7. Richardson, who remains undefeated in the women’s dash this season, also won her national outdoor title in dominant fashion.
In London, the 23-year-old, who came up short against Saint Lucia's Julien Alfred in the women's 100m at the Istvan Gyulai Memorial, will line up against the Jamaican triple world gold medallist and Britain's 2019 world 200m champion Dina Asher-Smith, competing in front of home fans and also fresh from winning the short sprint at the UK Championships held in Manchester.
