バイオグラフィー

Giuseppe Puliè was a specialist in the classical technique, who never adapted to the newer skating technique. In his last year as a junior he won the European Cup. In the World Cup he got his first result of any note in March 1988 in the 50 km classical at Rovaniemi, which would remain his best individual World Cup performance. Puliè competed at two World Championships with 14th place in the 10 km at Val di Fiemme in 1991 his best result. At the 1992 Winter Olympics Puliè replaced the injured Maurilio De Zolt, running the first leg, as Italy eventually won silver. At Italian national championships Puliè won five relay titles and two bronze medals in the classical style in 1990 (30 km) and in 1993 (10 km). He left the national team in 1994 and retired two years later, feeling that he could only compete at the top-level using PEDs. For five years Puliè worked as a materials expert with the national biathlon team. Today, he still lives in his native village of Belluno where he works as a financier.
