OLYMPIC ART POSTERS
Since the early 20th century, posters have been created by the Organising Committees of the Olympic Games (OCOGs) to promote this major sporting and cultural event.
Some OCOGs develop art posters in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), in addition to posters representing the mascot or emblem. During the Games, these OCOGs offer an exceptional creative opportunity for internationally renowned and emerging artists to draw inspiration from the “Olympic moment” and help build up the collective memory of the Games with original works that express, through images, the Olympic and Paralympic values and reflect the universality of sport and the Games.
