How to watch Team USA athletes at Tokyo 2020 Olympics now and later, including men’s baseball semi-final and USWNT
Team USA continue their medal hunt on day 13 of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, Thursday 5th August (Wed. evening and early Thur. morning in the U.S.).
Day 13 of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, in 2021, is underway in Japan, with plenty of interest for fans of the United States on Thursday, August 5 (Wednesday evening & early Thursday in the U.S.).
Team USA are competing in 10 medal events today.
In the return of baseball to the Games, Team USA will face South Korea in the semi-finals.
It’s another action packed day in athletics, the focus will be on the men's 110m hurdles final, men's triple jump, and men's shot put.
The shot battle between Joe Kovacs and Ryan Crouser should thrill, with Crouser breaking a 31-year-old world record at U.S. Trials in June.
Also watch out for Team USA’s finalists in men’s featherweight boxing, as Duke Ragan and David Taylor compete in the men’s 86kg freestyle wrestling.

Athletics
Double Olympic silver medallist Will Claye is one of the leading favourites for gold in the men’s triple jump final set to start at 11:00 JST (19:00 Wednesday in his native Arizona). The other American in that final is Donald Scott.
Also keep an eye on the men’s shot put final where two of the world’s best will be on parade.
Crouser is the reigning Olympic champion, while Kovacs took the world title in 2019. They should extend Team USA’s domination in the field event that also includes Payton Otterdahl. That final is at 11:05 JST.
World champion Grant Holloway will go for gold in the men’s 110m hurdles at 11:50am JST which will be late night 10:50pm on Wednesday in his hometown of Chesapeake, Va.
More American athletics to watch...
Pole vaulters Katie Nageotte and Morgann Leleux are in the finals (19:00 JST) while Nick Christie is the only contender in the men’s 20km walk in Sapporo at 16:00 JST.
Michael Norman and Michael Cherry are Team USA medal hopefuls in the men’s 400m that will bring down the curtain on the track action on day eight of athletics in Tokyo. That’s on at 21:00 JST, or 08:00am Thursday on the U.S. East Coast.

Basketball
The top-ranked Team USA will come up against Australia in the men’s basketball semi-final round.
Though the U.S. are 8-0 against the Australians in Olympic play, they were shocked by the Aussies 91-83 in a pre-Olympic warmup game last month. Tip-off is set for 13:15 JST (12:15 AM ET).
Baseball
U.S. has a crucial matchup against the Republic of Korea in Thursday’s semi-final. A win will send the Team USA men into the final, but if they lose, they will head into the bronze medal game. Host Japan awaits in the gold game, while the Dominican Republic is in the bronze medal game.
Water Polo
Another semi-final involving Team USA will be women’s water polo against the ROC at 15:30 JST.
Beach Volleyball
Team USA’s women's beach volleyball pair of April Ross and Alix Klineman are just a game away from the final. They face the Swiss duo of Anouk Verge-Depre and Joana Heidrich in the semi finals that gets started at 09:00 JST.

Canoe Sprint
Nevin Harrison will be in action in the women’s canoe sprint Single 200m semi-finals at 09:51 JST.
Cycling Track
At the velodrome, Gavin Hoover will be chasing qualification in the men’s Omnium Scratch Race quarters at 16:16 JST and, in the women's Keirin, Madalyn Godby will also be eyeing a semi-final berth at the same time.
Football
There’s another Team USA vs Australia tie on the cards on Thursday. USWNT play Australia for the football bronze medal at 17:00 JST. The Americans lost 1-0 to Canada in the semi-final.
Boxing
Duke Ragan could earn Team USA’s first gold medal from the boxing ring this Games in the men’s featherweight fight against Albert Batyrgaziev of the ROC. Catch that fight at 15:35 JST.

Wrestling
In wrestling, David Morris Taylor has a shot at gold men’s freestyle 86kg gold if he can stop his experienced Iranian opponent Hassan Yazdani Charati from defending his Olympic title. Be sure to catch that from 19:30 JST.
Sport Climbing
Thursday could be a gold medal day for Team USA in sport climbing with Nathaniel Coleman and fast-rising teenager Colin Duffy in action in the men's speed (17:30 JST), bouldering (16:00 JST) and lead finals at 21:10 JST.
