Tokyo 2020 Olympic silver medallist Rayssa Leal took home her fourth Street League Skateboarding (SLS) women's event title in Jacksonville this weekend, sealing the victory on her final trick on Sunday (17 July).
The 14-year-old had to execute a score of 7.5 on her final trick attempt after Oda Yumeka pulled off a superb kickflip front feeble which saw the Japanese skater score a 9-club (9.4).
Brazilian prodigy Leal demonstrated her incredible competitiveness and calmness under pressure, pulling off a 7.6 to win the title on the first stop of the 2022 Super Crown Tour.
Eight skaters competed in the final on Sunday with four advancing to the super final round: Leal, 2021 Super Crown champion Pamela Rosa, Olympic champion Nishiya Momiji, and Oda.
The final consisted of two 45-second line attempts and four single trick attempts. The top line score was then combined with the top two single trick scores to determine the four skaters advancing to the super final, where two more single trick attempts were made to improve the skaters' scores.
