Great Britain’s Olympic bronze medallist Sky Brown put on a dominant display to advance in first place to the final of the 2022 Skateboarding Park World Championships in 2023 on Saturday (11 February).

The 14-year-old took the lead in the semi-final with a second run score of 84.53, before improving to 87.08 in her third attempt to finish over 2.5 points clear of the field.

Until the semi-finals, the best score from two 45 second runs has been used to judge the skaters. For the semi-final and final, a best-of-three 45 second runs format is employed with the addition that if the skater falls, the run automatically ends.

Japan's reigning national champion, 14-year-old Kusaki Hinano, was second ahead of Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Hiraki Kokona. Olympic champion Yosozumi Sakura qualified in sixth place.

Three skaters from the United States, led by Olympian Bryce Wettstein, also progressed while Brown's compatriot Lola Tambling had the Aljada Skate Park crowd on their feet as she snatched the last spot in the final on her third run.
