Lucas Broussard of the United States earned back-to-back titles at figure skating's ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating event in Egna, Italy, after finishing second in the men’s free program.
Broussard came into the final day of skating as the man to beat after he topped the short program standings with a personal best score of 74.79 skating to Adios. He followed that up with another superb performance in Saturday’s (15 October) free program with a score of 136.35. Broussard claimed the top of the podium with a combined total of 211.14.
Japan’s Shunsuke Nakamura won the free program with a score of 137.40, which earned him second place overall with a total of 211.01. Compatriot Takeru Amine Kataise rounded out the podium with a score of 201.35. Takeru was ranked seventh after the short program before receiving the third-best score on Saturday to give him the bronze medal.
In the women's competition, Yoshida Hana of Japan's performance in the free program launched her to the top of the podium with an overall score of 208.31. The 17-year-old was the only women's skater to score above 140, with a winning mark of 141.42.
South Korea's Kim Chaeyeon came into the free program as the top-ranked skater after a superb performance in the short program, where she scored 70.29 points. She could only muster 133.65 for a total of 203.94 for second place.
Inga Gurgenidze of Georgia bagged the bronze medal with a total of 190.52 after finishing fourth and third in the short and free programs, respectively.
