Antonin Guy won his second medal of the Gangwon 2024 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) on Sunday (21 January), alongside Alice Dusserre in the single mixed relay biathlon.

Fresh from winning the men’s individual event a day previously, Guy completed two legs of the 7.5km course, with Dusserre doing two legs of the 6km course.

The only time the French pair surrendered the lead was when Guy had to reload two bullets at his first prone shooting.

In the end, they finished 50 seconds clear of second-placed Germany, represented by women’s individual silver medallist Marie Keudel and Korbi Kuebler.

Bronze went to Norway’s Eiril Nordboe and Storm Veitsle, who stopped the clock just 0.3 secs behind the Germans.

“After the first part of the race, I saw that Alice was in first position so I knew that it was a good day for her and I thought I have to do a good race to give the relay to Alice in the best position I can when she takes on her part of the race," Antonin Guy, per biathlonworld.com.

The win means that France are second in the overall medal table, having won the same amount of gold medals as leaders Italy (four), but with one less medal overall.
