Five-time world champions Brazil will welcome title holders Argentina in a crucial FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers football match at the Maracana Stadium, Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday.
The BRA vs ARG football match is scheduled to start at 6:00 AM IST (Indian Standard Time) on Wednesday.

However, Argentina still hold the pole position with 12 points (four wins, one loss) — two points ahead of second-placed Uruguay. Meanwhile, the Brazil football team is struggling at fifth with seven points (two wins, two losses, one draw) from as many matches.
The top six from the 10-team group, competing in home and away round-robin league format, qualify directly for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the USA, Canada and Mexico. The seventh team will make the Inter-confederation play-offs.
Brazil will also have some concerns with injuries to their star players. The hosts will be without the services of Neymar, Casemiro and Vinicius Junior.
Lionel Messi is expected to start and will look to bring Argentina’s campaign back on track following a 2-0 defeat to Uruguay.
