Singapore's Loh Kean Yew is now just one win away from his first BWF World Tour badminton title in nearly three years.

The 26-year-old reached the final of the 2024 Thailand Masters thanks to a 21-14, 21-14 victory over Chinese Taipei's Su Li-Yang in Bangkok on Saturday (3 February).

Loh is yet to drop a single game so far in the Thai capital, where he is seeking his first World Tour crown since triumphing at the 2021 Hylo Open in Germany.

The early exchanges were fairly even, and Su – who beat seeded players Nishimoto Kenta and Angus Ng en route to the semi-finals – held his own, even taking an early lead.

But from 9–9, Loh pulled away, keeping a cool head and showing his experience on court. Su looked flustered at how the first game turned out despite his strong performance and was never really in the second, with the 2021 world champion staying clear.

The second-seeded Loh will face another shuttler from Chinese Taipei, fifth seed Chou Tien-Chen, in the final. The pair have evenly split their six previous head-to-head meetings 3–3.
