BWF Thailand Masters 2024: Loh Kean Yew brushes Misha Zilberman aside to reach last eight

The 2021 world champion took just 27 minutes to see off his Israeli opponent 21-9, 21-6 in straight games. He is now three wins away from his first World Tour title since 2021.

Singapore's Loh Kean Yew remains in the hunt for his first badminton title since his 2021 World Championship crown after easily dispatching Misha Zilberman at the BWF Thailand Masters 2024 on Thursday (1 February).

Loh, who is seeded second and is the top seed left in the competition in Bangkok, was not troubled by his Israeli opponent, needing only 27 minutes to triumph 21-9, 21-6 in a one-sided affair.

Zilberman came closest in the first game at 6-7 down to Loh, but the Singaporean proved a different level against his hapless rival.

The 2021 world champion has dropped out of the world top 10 recently, but a first BWF World Tour title since the 2021 Hylo Open would go some way to correcting that.

His next opponent in the Super 300 tournament is Japan's Obayashi Takuma, with a potential semi-final against Ng Ka Long Angus on the line.
