Singapore's Loh Kean Yew is just two wins away from for his first BWF World Tour title since the HYLO Open 2021.

The 2021 badminton world champion defeated Japan's Obayashi Tokuma 21-13, 21-13 on Friday (2 February) to reach the semi-finals at the BWF Thailand Masters 2024.

Loh, who is the top seed left in the competition in Bangkok, was never in danger against Obayashi, wrapping it up in only 40 minutes.

The 26-year-old will now face Su Li Yang (Chinese Tapei) in the semis. He is hoping to get back into the world top 10. Winning the Super 300 tournament would be a big step towards his goal.
