Samaranch Memorial

Authorised by the Samaranch family and approved by the International Olympic Committee, the Samaranch Memorial - the only one in the world - was inaugurated on 21 April 2013. Juan Antonio Samaranch donated more than 16,000 items from his lifetime to serve as a testament to Olympic history for the general public. The memorial is now a member of the Olympic Museums Network, a member of the International Council of Museums, a member of the Chinese Museum Association, an AAAA National Tourist Attraction and a National Olympic Culture and Education Base.

The Samaranch Memorial conveys the idea of peace, promotes the Olympic values, places an emphasis on academic research related to Olympic education, offers communication platforms for all those who love Olympic education, facilitates the integration of sports and education, and contributes to the sharing of Olympic educational resources.
