バイオグラフィー

Vugar Orudzhov, who competed as a light-heavyweight freestyler for his entire career, made the Soviet national team in 1991, after winning the 1989 and 1990 European Junior Championships and taking silver at the 1989 World Junior Championships. An ethnic Azerbaijani, Orudzhov competed for the Soviet Union until 1992, then briefly Belarus after the fall of the Soviet Union, and from 1994 until the end of his career in 1996 for Russia. Orudzhov won Olympic bronze in 1992, was fourth at the 1996 Olympics, and was World Champion in 1991 and 1995 and European Champion in 1995. He also won the 1995 World Cup, silver at the 1993 World Championships, silver at the 1992 European Championships and bronze at the 1991 and 1996 European Championships. Orudzhov finished his career after the 1996 Olympics and later worked as a college wrestling coach in the United States.
