バイオグラフィー

A granddaughter of the 13th Duke of Hamilton, Vora Mackintosh was a member of the famous Mackintosh skiing dynasty. Her father Chris was an Olympian, as were her sister Sheena, and brothers Douglas and Charlach. Despite skiing since the age of four, Vora, a cousin of eventer Anneli Drummond-Hay, took to pony club riding in the years leading up to her teens, before concentrating on serious skiing in the immediate post-war years.

Vora finished third in the combined event at the British Women’s Ski Club Championships in 1950, but went one better the following year when she won the overall title, as well as winning the downhill and slalom events. Also in 1951, she finished second to her sister Sheena in the British Championships at Klosters, and in 1952, finished third. Vora won the three-day international combined event at Villars, Switzerland, in 1953.
