Terry Higgins had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1950 British Empire Games 4×440 yards Relay (with Derek Pugh, John Parlett, and Les Lewis). In the 1950 British Empire Games 440 yards Higgins was eliminated in the semi-finals. In the British Empire Games he competed for England.

Personal Best: 400 – 47.8 (1951).
