バイオグラフィー

After being eliminated in the semi-finals of the 200 m in 1948, Mae Faggs placed sixth in the 100 m in 1952 and failed to make the final of either of the individual sprints in 1956. However, she had a better record in the relays, winning a gold medal in 1952 and a bronze in 1956. During the course of a long career, she won the AAU 200 m in 1954 and, in 1955 and 1956, she took the sprint double at the AAU meet. Indoors she won the 100y in 1952 and claimed six victories in the 220y between 1949 and 1956. At the 1955 Pan American Games she won a silver medal in the 200 m and a gold in the 4×100 m relay (with Pearl Jones, Isabelle Daniels, and Mabel Landry). During her early days she represented the New York Police Athletic League, though she later attended, and represented, Tennessee State. As Mrs. Starr she became a teacher and very active in promoting youth programs in Cincinnati.

Personal Bests: 100 – 11.7 (1952); 200 – 24.2 (1956).
